The Pitti Palace is the biggest building of the whole city of Florence and is is the most eye-catching building. Its structures are made of mainly in Renaissance Style. The Pitti Palace is situated not far from the River Arno and the most famous bridge in Florence: the Ponte Vecchio. Originally the Pitti Palace was the private residence of Pitti Family, one of the most rich men in Florence.

Then, in 1539 the Pitti Palace was bought by the Medici Family. After that, the the Pitti Palace became the habitation of the Grand Duchy Families of the region of Tuscany. Today the Pitti Palace has been transformed from a royal palace to a museum.
The most famous galleries are: The Palatine Gallery, the most note of the galleries of the Pitti Palace, where you can see the works of art by many famous artist, such as: Raphael, Correggio, Titian. Other but not less important are the Royal Apartments; the Gallery of Modern Art; the Silver Museum; the Porcelain Museum; the Costume Gallery and the Carriages Museum.

After your long visit through all these Galleries, outside of the Pitti Palace you can take a break at the Boboli Garden where you can find the serenity of a past time.
