The Modern Art Gallery of Florence was founded during the first period of the twentieth century and it was inaugurated in 1924. The Modern Art Gallery of Florence is situated to the last floor of the noble Pitti Palace, which is collocated in the heart of the city. The Modern Art Gallery enjoy of a magnificent panorama of the wonderful and multicoloured hills of Tuscany. The Pitti Palace has also a beautiful green garden, well-know from lots of people: the Boboli Garden.

Inside the Modern Art Gallery there are many rooms. Each room is decorated with paintings and fresco paintings of the XIXth century to the age of the “Granduchi Lorenesi”.
In the seventieth century, during the age of the Granduchi, the Modern Art Gallery was decorated thirty rooms. All these rooms today represent the expositive route of the artworks of the Gallery.

Originally the six rooms that look at the Boboli Garden belonged to the Granduchi’s Family, untill the occupation of Florence of the French troops during the sixtieth century.

After the Restoration the Modern Art Gallery was generously modified and extended and today inside the Modern Art Gallery you will see a lot of redecorated painting of the major Italian artist.
